NEW YORK (Scrap Register): The United States based Green Technology Solutions Inc. (GTSO) is extending its operations to Bolivia through the formation of a joint venture with Chilerecicla, one of South America’s top recyclers of e-waste.
According to GTSO, the joint venture with Chilerecicla will increase the volume of metal scrap shipped to smelters throughout the region.
The decision to create a joint venture follows a feasibility study by GTSO into the potential growth of electronic scrap throughout South America.
Chilerecicla is presently operating at full capacity, indicating that the company would need to expand its operations to capitalise on the upsurge in electronic scrap, GTSO added.
“Our partner has already signed an agreement with one of Bolivia's largest e-waste operators and the initial purchases of raw e-waste materials are expected to begin this week,” said GTSO's ceo Paul Watson.
