NEWYORK (Scrap register): The Steel sheet buying in the US remains stagnant as Steel mills are pushing higher offers. Mills are on an effort to support sheet price hikes that amount to $40/st above last week's spot prices, as per Platts report.
Daily hot-rolled coil and cold-rolled coil assessments of S&P Global Platts which are normalized to an ex-works Midwest (Indiana) basis on Wednesday were at $500-$520/st and $700-$720/st respectively, Paltts reported.
The third wave of price rises since the middle of October has brought frustration among some customers.The latest hikes coming so shortly after $30-$40/st increases in the week of November 7.
