Turkish HRC Steel imports gain during Jan-Nov 2016
ANKARA (Scrap Register): Turkish HRC steel imports gained by 3 percent year-on-year to 3.33 million metric tons during the first eleven months of 2016, while the value of imports fell by 12.6 percent to $1.2 billion, as per the latest figures from the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK).
However, Turkey HRC steel imports plunged by 33.5 percent year-on-year to 231,196 metric tons during the months of November last year and down 5.4 percent compared to October 216. The value of imports dropped by 3.8 percent month-on-month to $97.2 million and down 18.7 percent year-on-year.
Russia (1,395,375 metric tons, up 0.61% year-on-year) was the biggest exporter of HRC steel during January to November last year followed by France (287,448 metric tons, down 32.32%), Ukraine (280,641 metric tons, down 28.64%), Romania (262,747 metric tons, down 10.10%) and Brazil (261,381 metric tons, up 60.62%).
