Brazil's Usiminas likely to hike 10.2% on price for flat goods
BRAZILIA (Scrap Register): Usiminas, the Brazilian integrated steelmaker is looking forward to increase the prices of its hot and cold rolled steel sheet and hot-dipped galvanized and electrogalvanized goods of about 10.2 percent, as per the company.
"The readjustment occurs in response to the recent appreciation of steel in the international market and aims to balance the values practiced in Brazil and abroad," the company quoted to Platts.
During July of this year, the company has increased about 10.7 percent in the price of HRC. During August they also made an announcement about the hike in HDG prices of about 10.4 percent.
Usiminas is also planning to increase prices 13.1 percent for all its products from September 1, but it was unclear if the increase has gone into effect.
