SHANGHAI (Scrap Register): China has produced 80.2 million tons of crude steel during the month of June this year, according to the latest data released by the National Bureau of Statistics.
Chinese crude steel production figures of June was below May's record 81.13 million tons, but June has one less day, setting a new daily average production record for a third month in a row at 2.67 million tons.
Chinese crude steel production figures of June are just shy of the 81.6 million tons the United States produced in the whole of 2017.
However, Chinese steel exports climbed during the month of June to 6.94 million tons, the best since July 2017, even after Washington imposed import duties to protect U.S. industries.
