KINSHASA (Scrap Register): Copper production in Democratic Republic of Congo, Africa's top producer, rose by 11.19% year-on-year in the January to May period, according to latest statistics released by the central bank.
Copper output for the first five months of 2019 stood at 552,044 tonnes compared with 496,468 tonnes in the same period of last year, the bank said.
The country produced 135,977 tonnes of Copper in May 2019, rose 21.56% from 111,855 tonnes a month earlier and up 19.29% as compared to 113,984 tonnes in the same month last year, according to the data.
