KINSHASA (Scrap Register): The Democratic Republic of the Congo produced 53855 tonnes of cobalt during the first six months of 2019, rose 2.5% year-on-year, according to latest data released by the Central Bank of the Congo.
In June alone, the country produced 9333 tonnes of cobalt, rose 1.46% year-on-year but down 11.57% month-on-month.
Copper production in Democratic Republic of Congo rose 12.5% in the first half of the year from a year earlier to 672,272 tonnes.
Cooper production in June reached 120228 tonnes, down 11.58% from 135977 tonnes a month earlier and up 19.29% from 100783 tonnes in June last year.
The country's gold output fell during the first half of 2019 by 7% to 16,645 kilograms. Gold production in June recorded at 3134 kilograms as compared to 2 917 kilograms in May 2019 and 3510 kilograms in June last year.
