Australia's Port Hedland Iron Ore exports up 10.5% m/m in August
WEST PERTH (Scrap Register): Iron ore shipments from Australia's Port Hedland rebounded by 10.5% on the month to 45.43 million tonnes in August, according to trade data from the Pilbara Ports Authority.
On year-on-year basis, iron ore exports rose 7%. Port Hedland's iron ore exports stood at 42.4 million tonnes in August 2018.
The Port of Port Hedland achieved a monthly throughput of 46.1 million tonnes, of which 45.4 million tonnes was iron ore exports.
The monthly throughput was a 7% increase from August 2018. Imports through the Port of Port Hedland totalled 180,000 tonnes, an increase of 61% from the same month in 2018, Pilbara Ports Authority said.
