Brazil's Crude Steel production fall 13.4% in August
BRASILIA (Scrap Register): Brazilian crude steel production declined 13.4% in August over a year earlier to 2.52 million tonnes, according to the latest figures released by the Brazil Steel Institute (Instituto Aço Brasil).
Crude steel production during January to August recorded at 22.21 million tonnes, down 5.4% year-on-year.
Rolled steel production fell 3.3% year-on-year in August to 1.84 million tonnes.
The production of rolled products in the first eight months was 15.4 million tonnes, down 2.5% compared to the same period in 2018.
