Port Hedland’s Iron Ore shipments fall 7.6% m/m in September


WEST PERTH (Scrap Register): Port Hedland, Western Australia’s largest iron ore export port, saw its iron ore shipment volumes reverse down to 41.97 million tonnes in September, according to the latest shipping figures from the Pilbara Ports Authority (PPA).

The ore volumes sailing through the port last month dipped by 3.5 million tonnes or 7.6% on month, after an on-month increase of 10.8% in August.

The total for shipments in September was also 3.5% lower than for the same month last year, the PPA data showed.
