China Steel output fall to 82.77 MT in September


BEIJING (Scrap Register): China’s monthly crude steel production slid to a six-month low in September, official data showed.

Total output fell 5.4% to 82.77 million tonnes last month from 87.25 million tonnes in August, the lowest level since March, data from the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) showed.

September production, however, rose from 80.85 million tonnes in the same month last year.

For the first nine months of the year, China churned out 747.82 million tonnes of steel, up 8.4 % from the same period last year, the NBS data showed.
